Lack of naso-temporal asymmetry in the central visual field of normal
subjects
Helmut Wilhelm and Manfred Fahle
Abstract
In order to test for differences between the nasal and the temporal half
of the central visual field (to 10 deg eccentricity), differential light
threshold, visual acuity, and vernier acuity were tested within this area.
Neither method showed significant differences between nasal and temporal
visual field in the mean values of all subjects. However, in some subjects,
average visual field differences of 1 dB were found.
